Steel Pole 43 Strat

TL;DR: These sound great, and really do add a different sound to a Stratocaster. I ordered a set of these as I had a ‘spare’ Stratocaster but nothing with P90s. It was a bit of a risk. However, within a few seconds of plugging in to dial in, I knew I’d made a good choice. The pickups have ‘fattness’ and power similar to my humbucker guitar, but seem to have a little more clarity – perhaps not a million miles away from a Telecaster bridge? But the thing I feel is really special is the neck position – this is where I am finding the classic ‘British blues’ solo tones in abundance. I have wired mine up with 500k pots, as recommended, and with a series 240k/500pF treble bleed. I am playing through an (attenuated) Celestion-blue-equipped 12 W tweed-covered amp, and using a treble boost and a touch of analogue delay. I ordered through one of Fralin’s dealers in the UK, Charlie Chandler’s Guitar Experience.
