My all time favorite set of Strat pickups. I put them in a 90s Fernandes Strat. The neck and middle pickups are smooth and powerful, while avoiding the tubby bass and shrill upper mids of many overwound pickups. Switch to the bridge and it’s powerful and compressed in the best possible way. These sound nothing like any other high output Strat I’ve ever tried. The bridge pickup sounds perfect if you want extra power and mids in your Strat pickup in order to drive an amp, and you’re not looking for p-90 or humbucker sounds. These don’t sound exactly like low output pickups, but they don’t sound like high, output pickups either. They’re clear and clean, but they dirty up great, and somehow they manage to translate all the sustain of a Strat into clear, vibrant sound that doesn’t punish your ears any more than it has to.
