Steel Pole 43 Tele

Before I get to how fantastic my Telecaster sounds with a Fralin steel pole bridge pickup, I want to compliment Mr. Fralin on being so available and personally involved in my ordering the pickup and his generously giving advice on how to have it installed. It’s clear that he loves his work and is it deservedly proud of his product. I didn’t install the pickup myself. I had a luthier do it. And Mr. Fralin’s instructions were welcomed by my luthier.. My luthier actually had totally positive things to say about Fralin pickups. We are in Los Angeles, and my Luthier also remarked that he was surprised when he found out some time ago that Mr. Fralin was not in Los Angeles. Why? Because my luthier commented that Fralin was always so easily available via phone. Seemed like he was in LA with everybody else. Regarding the sound. I should tell you first that I play a telecaster that came with a neck P90. And although the single coil stock bridge pickup was a nice balance in the middle position, I also play with 14 gauge flatwound strings, and I finger pick. So I like a beefier, low end tone. And I suspected that. Fralin pickup in the bridge would create more of the sound I wanted. And I wanted more output so I changed the pots to 500k. Anyway, after installing the Fralin bridge pickup the combination of the P90 neck pickup, the Fralin overwound 42 steel pole bridge pickup, and the 500K pots, have created an unbelievably big and full sound with a expanded tonal range. I could not be happier!!
