These pickups rip! They are undoubtedly expensive but they have lots of clarity and articulation particularly in the middle and bridge position, yet still have lots of warmth and body. Fralin and the team did a great job with this product and their customer service is also great. I had to adjust something with the shipping details and they handled it quickly and professionally. I got this prewired pickguard to put into a Squier Classic Vibe as a sort of sleeper build. It made sense to me to invest more money where it really counts, the pickups and electronics, and I am sure glad that I did, especially for my first guitar with humbuckers. This guitar is now my go to and while I love my other guitars, I find myself reaching for this one nine times out of ten. The combination of punch and clarity from these wide range pickups just make me want to play guitar more and I am more creatively inspired. It has a warmth that is humbucker-like but still does the tele bell-like twang thing well in the middle position. The neck position is maybe less usefyl for me but still sounds nice, especially when cleaner but it doesn’t get all that muddy when dirty either. The electronics and hardware are also good quality and the aesthetics add so much to my guitar also. The tortoiseshell looks exquisite and the raw nickel covers have a nice vintage vibe to them. I have gotten many complements on my tone since playing this guitar and while I was really happy with it when I was playing my other fender single coil guitars, these Fralin pickups give that maybe 5-10% boost of quality and I’d say it is worth it. I mostly play worship music and they fit into this style well but I can see they can do way more than that. They’ve also handled playing on the road well through different room and power setups they have been quiet and reliable. The outpuck jack is also super solid. These pickups are perhaps lower output than I might have expected but this isn’t bad: I don’t know much about original WR humbuckers. These will likely not be the last Fralin pickups that I buy. The urge to chuck Fralins into my other guitars is strong at times. TLDR; These pickups are worth it if you can afford them. Clarity and punch galore. Just note that the pickup selector switch is Fender sizing and may not fit another model like a Squier Deluxe without body modification.
